**Byron Gay Dominates Volusia Opener As Glen MacTavish Storms Through Field** Byron Gay controlled this one from start to finish, leading 28 laps and never letting Jake Sonnentag find a way through. Sonnentag qualified on pole and won his heat, but once the feature started, Gay had the pace everyone else was chasing. The real story though was Glen MacTavish charging from 15th all the way up to seventh — an eight-position gain that kept the field honest and reminded everyone that Volusia's dirt can shuffle the deck in a hurry. Bruce Clingan and Theodore York rounded out the top five in what was a clean, decisive performance by Gay to open the season strong.
