**Scott S Smith controlled Lernerville start to finish, but Kyle Wiergowski's late-race charge nearly spoiled the show** Scott S Smith made the statement on qualifying and never looked back. Pole position, heat race win, then a dominant feature performance where he led 30 laps and dictated the entire show at Lernerville. Mike Fritz made a real go of it in second, applying pressure throughout, but Smith had the car to beat and proved it all night. The real story though belonged to Kyle Wiergowski. Starting ninth in the feature, he was relentless, picking off four positions to grab fifth at the finish. His consolation race victory meant he had to come from deep in the field, and he clawed his way forward with the kind of desperation that makes a race matter. Came up just short of the podium but absolutely made his mark on the night. Todd Hutton's heat race victory kept him in the mix all evening. Devin A Thompson and Waylon Wilson rounded out the front five in a night that belonged to Smith's consistency but will be remembered for Wiergowski's grit.
