**Ryan Washock Takes Statement Win at Volusia in Opener** Ryan Washock controlled the feature from start to finish at Volusia, leading 25 laps to kick off the All Star Sprint Cars season with authority. But the real story was the charge from the back of the field — Jeromy Weigle started P21 and threaded his way through traffic to finish sixth, picking up 15 positions in a single race that announced his intentions for the year. Washock's dominance on the dirt was never seriously threatened. Chad Griggs took the pole position but couldn't translate that into feature success. The consolation races sorted out the field cleanly, with Joe Howe2 and Jeromy Weigle both earning their tickets to the feature through those second-chance races.
