**Christian McCartney dominates Charlotte dirt in season opener** Christian McCartney was untouchable from start to finish at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, converting pole position into a commanding victory in Round 1 of All Star Sprint Cars. McCartney controlled the race throughout, holding off a fierce challenge from Matthew Mateer, who led 16 laps in the middle stages but couldn't find a way past the polesitter down the stretch. The real story of the feature belonged to Theodore York, who turned a P14 starting spot into a P4 finish with a relentless charge through traffic. York's ten-position gain was the hard charger of the night, slicing through the field with calculated aggression to salvage a strong points day from a rough qualifying effort. Jacob Schmutz, Joseph Grandy, and Bruce Clingan each took heat victories on a Charlotte surface that produced clean, competitive racing. McCartney's pole and feature win give him an early points cushion heading into Round 2.
