But Tyler Schell had other plans on the dirt at I-55, executing a late-race pass and holding firm down the stretch to snatch the win away from the points leader. Bierlein had control for most of the race, but Schell found the right line when it mattered and refused to give it back. Trevor Royer made the most of his shot in the feature, charging eight positions from 14th to finish sixth and earn hard charger honors. The consolation was won by Zach Jaynes, who advanced into the main event and mixed it up with the best.
