**Zach Jaynes powers through to Round 1 victory as Jack Burke storms back from deep in the field** Zach Jaynes controlled the feature when it mattered most, holding off Shaun W Smith in a tight final battle to secure the opening round at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. But the real story belonged to Jack Burke, who entered the feature from P19 and absolutely blitzed his way through the field to claim hard charger honors with a 14-position gain. Trevor Royer set the pace early, leading 14 laps before the feature sorted itself out. From there it became a matter of who had the drive in the closing laps, and Jaynes proved he had the most. Shaun W Smith, who claimed pole position in qualifying, pushed hard but couldn't find a way past down the stretch. The heat races were split among Rick Maine, Joseph Grandy, Ross Korynta, and Jaynes, with Cody Olsen and Corey Janz taking down the consolations. That set the stage for a feature that belonged to the driver who could navigate traffic best — and that was Jaynes all the way.
